For the past week, Westford has been abuzz about the big piles of what appears to be compost at Drew Gardens on Boston Road, formerly known as Eric’s Garden Center, but today the buzz on that site has a new update.

Following a decision at Tuesday night’s Board of Selectmen meeting, the Town of Westford is looking for residents interested in joining a task force to provide a recommendation on whether or not the town should buy the Drew Gardens property and the adjacent land behind it.

Additional details on the scope of the task force are expected at the Selectmen’s next meeting on May 27.

More information on how to apply for the task force can be obtained by contacting Tina Landry at 978-692-5501, ext. 1

Anyone interested in applying for the task force can fill out a Citizen’s Activity Form at the Town Website, westfordma.gov. (Click on Boards and Committees A – C or D – Z and go to New Citizen Activity Form.)
