The Westford Middle School Parent Teacher Organization (WMSPTO) is reporting that programs may be eliminated if parent volunteers cannot be found before the end of June 2014.

In an e-mail released on June 3, a lack of interest for several leadership positions is endangering funding programs, which in the past four years have totaled over $75,000.

That figure includes over $52,000 for over 30 hands-on Arts and Education programs including a liquid nitrogen demonstration from MIT’s Lincoln Labratories, a look at Ancient Egypt and other programs.

According to the e-mail, the following positions were still vacant as of June 3.

– Co-President

– Vice President at Stony Brook

– Arts & Education Programming (AEP) Chair

– Secretary

– No Fuss Fundraiser Coordinator (Aug-Nov)

– Publicity Coordinator

A nomination form is available on the WMSPTO website. For questions, e-mail WMSPTO president Heidi Tierney at westfordmiddleschoolpto@gmail.com.
