If anyone might be wondering what happened to all the RE/Max signs around town, a few local realtors will say the answer is that there is a new king of the jungle.
Former local RE/Max brokers Stacey Alcorn and Andrew Almata have broken away to form their own new company called LAER Realty.
Now just a few weeks old, the company has 13 offices across Massachusetts, including one in Westford on Littleton Road in Westford Commons, an office building next to Bamboo.
According to Stacey’s mother Mary, one of the approximately 200 real estate agents now part of the firm, the switch came due to what were seen as limitations with RE/Max.

“Stacey and Andrew were brokers to 14 RE/Max offices, but they felt stifled,” said Mary. “They wanted to expand from the Merrimack Valley into the Boston area, but RE/Max wouldn’t allow it, confining them to this area.”
Mary says that many of the agents that worked with Stacey and Andrew at RE/Max have come aboard, with the possibility of another office opening this summer.
“They want to expand everywhere throughout New England, businesswise the change hasn’t really hurt,” “We’ve got a lot of agents out there selling; we’ve had nothing but a positive reaction.”
Additionally, Mary says the change has also been beneficial in terms of philanthropy, allowing local realtors more latitude towards charities they can assist, leading to aiding causes such as the Westford Food Pantry and a benefit lunch for Westford Academy teachers.
The company is aiming to move its Westford office down Littleton Road to the former location of R.J. Bradley’s Ski Shop next to the Metropolitan Deli and across from the Red Hat/Net Scout campus.
Although no definitive timeline is in place for the move, the goal is completing the transition later this year.
