The Westford Water Department has announced that work will begin on a water main replacement project in Nabnasset on Tuesday, Aug. 5, with a water shut off on Edwards Avenue.

This shut off is scheduled to occur at 8 a.m. and last for four hours.

There will also be construction for eight to 10 weeks from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays except for Friday, which will occur from 7 to 11 a.m.

Residents will be given warnings about shut offs in their area, although the Water Department reports that some unanticipated shutoffs may occur.

Once completed, the new 2,500 feet of new water main between Birch Road and Edwards Avenue will remove dead ends in the town’s water system.

The Water Department says this will provide improved water quality conditions as well as new fire hydrants.

Residents interested in more information can call 978-692-5529 or go to westfordma.gov/water.
