The following information was provided by the Westford Police Department. Anyone arrested is assumed innocent unless proven guilty by a court of law.
The following calls were released in late August after the conclusion of an investigation. The Westford Template will share information on the results of the investigation as they become available.
July 17, 7:19 a.m. – An officer was dispatched to Concord Road after reports that a resident’s vehicles had been broken into the previous night.
Both had been left unlocked and were entered at approximately 1 a.m., with contents of the glove box scattered around the vehicle.
Among items missing from the vehicles included several dollar bills, a GPS device, a $500 projector and a $50 pair of sunglasses.
The resident reported that she was unsure if motion sensor lights in the area had been activated and did not hear her dog bark during the break in.
July 17, 11:05 a.m. – A resident on Old Lowell Road reported that sometime during the previous night, someone had broken into two vehicles in his driveway.
His daughter had entered her vehicle at approximately 9 a.m., seeing the glove box open and contents thrown across the vehicle. However, the daughter cleaned up the items, removing any possible evidence left by the perpetrator.
The daughter discovered that her wallet and the vehicle’s keys had been taken. Other stolen items later found included $60, a driver’s license, a key chain, a credit card and several gift cards.
In the other vehicle, a Nook tablet was missing from the vehicle.
The officer on the call discovered a pair of plastic tinted safety glasses on the floor of one of the vehicles that had smudging. It was taken in for evidence.
July 17, 6:25 p.m. – An officer arrived on Country Road for reports of larceny from a motor vehicle.
The owner of the vehicle said that she had went out to her Honda Accord earlier in the day and found the glove compartment open and could not find her most current registration for the vehicle.
The owner’s husband also reported that he saw the glove compartment in his car open earlier in the morning, but nothing had been taken.
An hour later, the officer went to Fletcher Road for another break in, with a man saying that an undisclosed amount of cash, a driver’s license, two credit cards and a bank card had been stolen from his Chevy Equinox.
July 17, 7:52 p.m. – A man on MacQuarrie Lane reported that a motor vehicle registration had been stolen and his glove compartment has been left open earlier in the morning.
Other valuable items, such as an iPod tuner and some loose change had not been taken.
