#1. The Board of Selectmen is seeking candidates for the Pedestrian Safety Committee… That committee is charged with identifying and evaluating options for pedestrian safety.

#2. Governor Deval L. Patrick… has ordered that the United States flag and the Commonwealth flag be lowered to half-staff at all state buildings from sunrise until sunset on Tuesday, September 30, 2014, in honor of Maj. Michael J. Donahue, U.S. Army, of Columbus, OH who was killed in action on September 16, 2014in Kabul, Afghanistan.
This gubernatorial order applies to:
1. The main or administration building of each public institution of the Commonwealth, e.g. town and city halls
2. Â Other state-owned or state-controlled buildings
3. All state military installations

#3. Nashoba Valley Technical High School…. will host Parents Night on Wednesday, Oct. 1, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Students’ schedules will be available in the lobby starting at 6 p.m.
Parents of all Nashoba Tech students will have a chance to meet with their child’s academic and technical instructors. There will be two informational sessions with the Student Services Department, from 8 to 8:30 p.m., and from 8:30 to 9 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

#4. Pictured… Westford’s own Jack Leeber, recently was honored at a student award ceremony at Emerson Hospital for having completed 300 hours of volunteering. Student volunteers provide a variety of invaluable services at Emerson, including transporting patients, delivering flowers, greeting people at the information desk, and more.
