Brush Drop Off at The Highway Garage This Weekend

From Nabnasset to Forge Village, here are your Five Things for Oct. 15, 2014 in Westford.

#1. The Stony Brook School is Getting Social… you can now follow them on Facebook at facebook.com/StonyBrookSchool and Twitter at @SBSPanthers.

Brush Drop Off#2. There’s a Brush Drop-Off… for residents on Oct. 18 from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Westford Highway Department Garage on North Street (pictured). The cost is $10 per load.

#3. 2015 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards Program

All Westford Academy students who have participated in a volunteer service activity in the past year are invited to apply for the 2015 Prudential Spirit of Community Award. They could win $1000 and a trip to Washington, D.C.  Please see specific instructions on how to apply online at http://spirit.prudential.com or www.nassp.org/spirit . Participants can e-mail the form to khalloran@westfordk12.us  before  Tuesday, Nov.4.

#4. Flu Clinics…. Will be held at the Millennium School behind the Abbot School from 6 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 21 and Oct. 28 and on Nov. 7 and 21 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the J.V. Fletcher Library.

Homebound individuals should contact the Health Department at 978-692-5509 to schedule an appointment.

#5. Take A Look at the Timberlake Property… from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 18, it will be open to the public.

Town Meeting voters on Oct. 20 will decide upon requesting Community Preservation funding for the 44 acre lot located off Wing and Tenney roads.

A brief summary of the project is available for download,as is the complete application to the Community Preservation Committee. Directions to get to the property are also available.
