Emerging Infections: What Might Be Coming – This talk will focus on the emerging illnesses in the headlines today. Hear from one of the state’s top medical experts about our individual and community risks, and what precautions we should all be taking. As more and more international travel occurs, our risks are rising.  Presented by MA Department of Public Health’s Medical Director Dr. Al DeMaria. Dr. DeMaria will discuss the origins of emerging infections and the threat they present. He will review the current situation with Ebola virus, chikungunya and other mosquito-borne infections, MERS, and novel influenza viruses. He will put emerging infections into context.  Tuesday, January 13, 7 to 9 p.m, Blanchard Middle School Auditorium, 14 West Street, Westford MA. The public is invited; feel free to bring a friend.
