Several Westford Academy students were honored recently in a pair of extracurricular programs.

The Grey Ghosts’ DECA program won the Largest State Chapter Award for the first time ever, with Westford Academy’s Ankeeta Patil and Kyle Pilachowski earning election as Massachusetts State DECA officers.
In total, eight students won a combined total of $5,100 in scholarship money and 34 Westford Academy students qualified to compete in the upcoming International Career Development Conference being held in Orlando from April 25 to 28.
The Westford Academy Theater Arts program won the recent Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild semifinals on March 14.
Sam Nudler, Thomas Mitsock and Brandon Jurewicz were honored for Excellence in Acting; Chiaro Peters, Keely Craig, Morgan Shea, Misha Stapp, Claire Clark, Kayleigh Keuhl, Maddie Corvino were honored for Excellence in Set Design; Amy Keum, Katie Sawosik, Abby Mills, Emma Seifert, Sidney Shea, Samantha Garrett were honored for Excellence in Costume Design, Jillian Baker was honored for Excellence in Dramaturgy and Naqiya Motiwala, Kristen Kim, Katie Kandra, Caroline Lawlor, Matthew Gagnon were honored for Excellence in Sound Design and Execution.
Westford Academy now advances to the METG State Final from March 26-28 at the Back Bay Events Center. It will perform The Normal Heart on March 28 at 12:30 p.m.
