Westford Academy officials announced late last week that they have been cooperating with the Westford Police Department investigate alleged sexting among students within the school.

In a Westford Academy Ghostwriter piece earlier this month, a student informed a teacher that he believed other students may have had pictures of female students on their phones.

After the student discussed the matter with the teacher, Westford Academy School Resource Officer Geoff Pavao was informed along with Westford Academy Principal James Antonelli and an investigation began.

The Westford Public School Department has not issued any comment outside of a written statement from Superintendent Bill Olsen indicating that the matter is still under investigation and the matter has been referred to the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office.

Westford Police Department representatives also had no comment on the issue.
