The Police Amateur Radio Team (PART) of Westford will be celebrating its 40th anniversary in an annual ham radio event better known as “Field Day.”
Each year, the event provides an opportunity for ham radio enthuasists to hone their craft while also providing a way for anyone interested to learn more about the hobby.
During the event, temporary communications facilities will be built without the use of external utilities. The event serves as a simulation of situations where PART of Westford aids other groups with communications, ranging from the Boston Marathon to first responders during natural disasters.
The event will take place on the weekend of June 27 at the Concord Rod and Gun Club on Strawberry Hill Road in Concord.
