The following information was provided by the Westford Police Department.

June 2, 11:47 p.m. – An officer was dispatched to Hayrick Lane for a disturbance.  While in route, the officer passed National Grid working on a downed utility pole in a neighbor’s driveway.

National Grid advised that they would be working to restore power until about 3 a.m. but the engineers and scientists would be gone by 1 a.m.

The reporting resident was then contacted and she advised that she understood the circumstances and was not upset about the noise.  The resident simply wanted a report filed because she feared there was structural damage to her septic tank.

When National Grid had been digging, the resident felt her whole house shake and was concerned that it may have effected her septic system which was close to the house.

The resident was assured that a report would be made and the incident was cleared.

June 2, 11:49 a.m. – A woman called for legal assistance involving her mother’s male friend who was living in her house.

A verbal agreement between herself and her mother stated that the friend could live at the house so long as he helped with maintenance and other issues.  Recently, the man had started to collect a pile of junk in the yard.

The officer noted that this included metal, electronics and a junk car in the side yard.  She complained that her two-year-old son could not play in the yard because of these materials and was wondering what she could do to get him to remove it.

She was advised that this was a civil issue and that she could take it to civil court or simply ask him to clean the yard.

June 3, 11:01 p.m. – An officer was dispatched to the to Depot Street near the Stony Brook Farm area after someone reported a woman standing in the middle of the road.

The woman was reported wearing a brown shirt with blue jeans and brown hair, but upon arrival, no one matching that description was found.

Contact was made with the woman reporting the incident who said she had been driving and passed the woman who took no notice of the vehicle and just stayed still.

A final check was done of the area with negative results.

May 20, 9:05 p.m. – A resident complained of a noise violation at Westford Academy involving kids who were using the basketball court after hours.

When an officer arrived, he spoke to the kids who had been shooting hoops on the outside court.  They were not aware that there was an hour restriction and agreed to leave the scene.
