Last Saturday’s beautiful summer weather was the setting for an exciting, well-played soccer game between two excellent town teams.  In the end, the Westford U-10 Girls Tigers out-clawed the visiting Wilmington Wildcats by a score of 4 – 0. Outstanding Westford goalie play was shown by Alexa MacDonald and Carinna Tocci, with key scores by new-to-soccer Jacqui Curley (2 goals) and Julianne Frechette (scoring a memorable goal ricocheting off the opposing goalie’s back), and Keilana daRosa on an expert screen pass from Ashley Hander.  Resilient and practically impenetrable defense was provided by Charlotte Aeder; Emily FitzPatrick; Meghan Gardner; and Maia Gosselin with strong mid-field play and passes positively made throughout the game by Raegan Fremault and Emmie Hammond.
