The following information came from the Westford Police Department. Anyone arrested is innocent unless proven guilty by a court of law.

Oct. 17, 3:44 p.m. – A woman on West Prescott Street called for police assistance after concerns about her mother repeatedly calling and texting her husband.

According to the woman, her mother continuously was trying to contact the husband, asking “if he was okay.” She was unsure why her mother was asking this to her husband. Although the amount of calls and texts was not identified in the report, there were enough attempts at contact that the woman saw the effort as a form of harassment.

The officer provided information on how to proceed if the contact did not stop.

The mother was not contacted.

Oct. 18, 7:24 a.m. – Police were dispatched to North Street for a possible hit and run incident that occurred recently.

The officer investigating the incident was able to find a car with New Hampshire plates and Massachusetts plates fitting the description of the cars described to police.

There was moderate front end damage to the New Hampshire car, and the passenger side airbag was deployed. There were also issues with the gear shift, front tires, and driver’s side window. Additionally, there parts of an evergreen tree inside portions of the front bumper.

Approximately 100 feet north of the New Hampshire car, the Massachusetts car had been struck just behind the front driver’s door, with additional damage through the rear of the car. The rear axle completely broke off and was found near the rear bumper.

Evidence led the officer to conclude that the Massachusetts car had impacted a telephone pole, and parts of the tree inside the New Hampshire were near the telephone pole.

The driver of the Massachusetts car said he had parked it there overnight and thought he heard a branch hitting a shed at some time after he had gone inside for the evening, discovering the car in the morning.

Later, the driver of the New Hampshire car was found. According to his account, he was working in Portsmouth, NH and Cambridge, going back and forth with a stop in Salem on the night of the incident. He indicated at the time of the incident, he had gotten approximately three hours of sleep over the prior three days and nodded off while driving.

Initially the car wouldn’t stop, and when it did, the keys could not be taken out of the ignition. At this point, he walked to Tedeschi’s and called for a ride.

After hearing the New Hampshire driver’s information, the officer issued citations to the man for alleged failure to keep within marked lanes, driving faster than a reasonable and proper speed and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

Oct. 22, 1:43 p.m. – An older gentleman on Groton Road required assistance with directions, and appeared to be concerned.

The officer asked the man what was wrong and he said was frustrating trying to find his house. He said he had left his sister’s house in Concord at approximately 8:30 p.m. and had been driving since then to get to Newport Drive.

The man also complained of leg pain.

He was transported to Emerson Hospital for an examination.

Nov. 23, 10:12 p.m. – Dale Mitchell, 52, of 6 Sunset Dr. in Nashua was arrested following a motor vehicle stop on the corner of Groton and Dunstable Roads.

Mitchell was arrested on an outstanding warrant for alleged motor vehicle offenses.
