Flags At Half-Staff To Honor Three U.S. Army Members

The town of Westford has announced three half-staff notices from Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker  to be observed over the next several days.

On Saturday, Dec. 12, flags will be lowered to half-staff in honor of Sergeant Robert Dakin.

A member of the U.S. Army, Dakin was listed as Missing in Action on Dec. 12, 1950 while fighting in the Korean War. He was later declared Killed in Action.

On Monday, Dec. 14, flags will be lowerd to half-staff in honor of Sergeant Joseph Edward Carreiro and Specialist Eric Robert Moses.

Also members of the U.S. Army, Carreiro died at Fort Bragg on Dec. 2, 2015 and Moses died on Dec. 3, 2015 from injuries sustained in Killeen, TX.

This order applies to the main or administration building of each public institution of the Commonwealth, e.g. town and city halls, other state-owned or state-controlled buildings and all state military installations
