Despite strong opposition by a representative of the affected property owners, Planning board members, last night, unanimously approved a storm water permit and definitive subdivision plan for 64 Main St.
Developer David Guthrie is proposing to build a single family home on about 26 acres at the head of the Tom Paul Trail in the town center. To provide access to the lot, Guthrie sought approval for a right of way from the owners of 66 Main St., John and Regina Conway.
Guthrie wants to call the new street Kinloch Drive.
“I think the board should reject this plan outright,” said William Ritter, who represents the Conways. “There is not enough land for them to build a roadway…the right of way is too narrow.”
Ritter, of Worcester, accused the board members of paying “incredible deference” to Guthrie. “No consideration (is) paid to the owners of the land…I’d suggest that if you look at the abutters concerns and the owners of the land which is the Conways, that this board should deny the plan.”
The storm water approval was unanimous. Board member Matthew Lewin was the sole dissenting vote on the definitive subdivision plan decision.
