Thank you for coming out in such large numbers on election day to make your voices heard.

During the campaign I had the opportunity to listen to many voices, and this is what I heard:

  • Westford wants welcoming, positive and transparent town governance.
  • Westford supports our outstanding schools and considers the success of our students to be a community value.
  • Westford wants to explore avenues to provide relief to our financially strapped seniors.
  • The Westford Chinese-American and Indian-American communities are finding new ways to engage and include their voices in town governance.
  • Westford demands strict accountability and enforcement regarding the Asphalt Plant and the Drew Gardens Agricultural parcels.
  • Westford wants a careful study of how our town services will evolve as our town continues to grow.

This is a full plate, and I’m excited to get to work.  I understand that I work for you and will always be listening to your ideas and concerns.  There has never been a better time to get involved in our town, and I encourage each of you to engage in Westford’s government as you are able.  I look forward to working with all of you to make an even stronger community and an even better Westford. — Tom Clay, selectman
