On Feb. 1, 2010, Olivia “Liv” Marchand, 17, was tragically killed in an act of domestic violence. Her mother Jody Marchand survived a critical gunshot wound and after a long recuperative period, went on to found the Live for Liv Foundation in her daughter’s memory.
An annual fundraising event for Live for Liv takes place on Sunday, July 16. The Ride for Liv/Run for Liv features three bicycle rides of different lengths and a 5K race/walk. Among other things, the money raised by Live for Liv has supported a local shelter for women who have been domestically abused.
