VIDEO: Zoning Board Approves Variance, Special Permit

Zoning Board members, on Jan. 17, members took up requests for a special permit and then a variance on two proposed residential developments:

  • 53 Hildreth St. – Members unanimously approved a special permit that will allow applicant Christopher W. Daley to raze an existing house and construct a new one with a larger footprint. The new structure would not meet front yard setbacks.
  • 129 Cold Spring Road – Members unanimously approved a variance to allow BGL Custom Homes, LLC, to raze an existing house for the construction of another that will be within 37 feet of the front property line. Under the town’s zoning bylaws, a clearance of 50 feet is required.

A third agenda item regarding a proposed Powers Road Development of 28 units on about 11 acres was continued to Feb. 21.
