Story-Times: Space is still available for Baby Lap Time for babies 0-12 months and their caregivers, Wiggle Words for ages 2-3, and Book Bunch for ages 3-4. There is also space in the Mini Masters Art Book Club for kids in grades 3 to 5. Residents can visit our online calendar or call the Children’s room at 978-399-2302 to register.

 The Friends February Book Sale is on the horizon: Friday, Feb. 9, Saturday, Feb. 10 and Sunday, Feb. 11. A Friends Members Only Sale will be held on Friday evening from 6:30 to 9 p.m.  A Friends membership (which may be purchased at the door) is necessary for attending the preview sale.  The entire public is invited Saturday for an all-day sale, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and to the special half price extravaganza on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m.

Teen and Tween Make & Take Monday : Monday, Jan. 22 at 3:30 p.m. Imagine, create, and participate!  Each Monday teens will participate in a variety of hands-on activities that will include making fun, seasonal crafts, exploring STEAM activities, and/or creating one-of-a-kind masterpieces. All materials will be provided at the program in the Library’s Meeting Room.  This week participants will be making Star Wars Crafts.  This is a free, drop-in event. Registration not required.

Monday Mystery Book Club:  Jan. 22 at 10:30 a.m. Book group members meet once a month on Monday, 10:30 a.m. in the Mary Atwood Room. The January selection is “The Lake House” by Kate Morton. Copies of the current selection are available for check-out at the Main Desk. New Members are always welcome. No registration required.

Jordan Marsh: New England’s Largest Store: Thursday, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. Jordan Marsh opened its first store in Boston in 1851 selling assorted dry goods. By the 1970’s, it had become a regional New England icon and the largest department store chain in the nation.  Author and historian, Anthony Sammarco reveals the fascinating history of Boston’s beloved “Jordan Marsh”.  No registration required.

Ukulele Strum-Along: You Learn to Play by Playing: Saturday, Jan. 27 at 2 p.m. Focusing on 2 and 3 chord songs, this program is for the beginner ukulele player who wants to practice and play music with others. Singing is encouraged. Ukuleles available to borrow, songs projected onto a screen so no music stands or books necessary. This new program will meet on a monthly basis. Residents can register to borrow a ukulele (through our online calendar or call the Information Dept. at 978-399-2304) or bring your own. Open to adults and teens.

Teen & Tween Advisory Board Meeting: Saturday, Jan. 27 at 3 p.m. Teens join the Library’s Teen and Tween Advisory Board and provide input for our Teen and Tween Summer Reading Program and support to the young adult librarian.  No experience is necessary, but participants must be in grades 5-9 and live in Westford, or the parent must be a member of the Friends of the Library. The meeting(s) will be held in the Children’s Story Hour Room.
