In The Gallery Thursday, March 8, 6 – 9 p.m. Art Reception, Elaine Seidel, “Kaleidoscope”

“My photos are images of light and air. In them I breathe and feel peace. I am attracted to movement both real and implied in the landscapes I capture. We must stop and SEE all around us; above, below, and pull it inside of us.
~Elaine Seidel

Trained in all the various fields of art, Elaine Seidel sees images with a variety of influences, architecture, graphic design, painting, sculpture, etc. At University, she trained in Political Science and History while maintaining her computer art and poetry. Elaine’s work in both photography and poetry show rhythm and reflect her multitude of interests and athletic endeavors. Her visual pieces have a timeless feel and her words seem to spring from inside the readers’ mind. Elaine prizes a moment, a feeling captured with a somewhat unfinished quality over too structured an effort. The work is strong but leaves room for the viewer or reader to insert themselves. Elaine Seidel lives in Massachusetts. See her work on Sundays through March 11, 12-2 p.m., and at her art reception on Thursday, March 8 at 6 p.m.

Westford Regional Art Event March 11 – 25

The Westford Regional Art Event is a volunteer-driven program with a passion and purpose to provide an annual event designed to showcase emerging and established artists within our immediate and surrounding communities. The goal is to encourage individuals of all ages to share their personal artistic expression through an open forum. See full details at https://westford.org/pca.

Online Registration Now Open through March 10 at https://www.westford.org/art/.

Receiving: March 11, 5 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. and March 12, 8 – 11 a.m.

Dueling Pianos Saturday, March 3, 8 p.m. (doors open 7:30)

Dueling Pianos is a high-energy, request-oriented, interactive sing-a-long show.  Rock, country, rap, old favorites – no genre is off limits as the audience sets the playlist while two pianists try to outplay each other. They are shameless professionals and can be persuaded to play a song with a little monetary incentive, say organizers, who add that audience members should arrive with bills in their pockets.  Audience members will be crooners by evening’s end. This show will sell out. Find them at mktix.com/pca. $22 each ($20 for PCA members).

Family Barn Dance Sunday, March 4, 3 – 5 p.m.

Designed for the whole family this event promises an afternoon of dancing and music in a friendly, informal atmosphere. March 4 Caller is Dudley Laufman. Participants need not have experience. Fee: $5 adults, $3 kids, maximum $15 per family.

Indian Folk Dance, Sunday, March 4, 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.

The season started with Dandiya, a popular folk-dance tradition from western India. Based on attendee feedback, it was broadened to include other Indian folk and Bollywood dance styles. Beginners welcome. Attendance & fees: March 4 session, $10 per person covers lesson and open dance time. Net proceeds will help fund the PCA’s Bell Tower Renovation project. Due to space limitations, PCA members, volunteers, and Westford residents have preferred admission. Advance sign-up recommended.

Open Mic Night Sunday, March 18, 6:30 p.m. $5 cover charge – NOTE DATE CHANGE!

Participants are encouraged to come out to the PCA and share a song, tune or poem with a roomful of supportive listeners. All ages and talent levels are welcomed. This is a place to start performing in front of an audience, say organizers. For experienced performers this is a great place to meet other performers and share talents with new performers. There is also a professional or semi-professional featured act at each open stage that plays for about a half hour. From September to June a full blown open stage is provided with a professional sound system, stage lights and all. For more information e-mail openmikes@johnferullo.com
