Here’s a news brief on Fourth of July celebrations around the area.

Although Westford doesn’t have fireworks, many nearby communities do, including Lowell, Ayer, Harvard, Acton, and, of course, Boston on the Esplanade.

Chelmsford’s Fourth of July celebration begins on July 3 at 5 p.m. with the country fair on the Town Common. Festivities continue the next day with the John Carson Road Race at 9:30 a.m., just before the parade kicks off at 10 a.m. Stay around afterwards for the continuing country fair and art show inside the Chelmsford Center for the Arts.
