The Conservation Commission tackles the issue of two swimming emergencies at Burges Pond inside the East Boston Camps wooded area. Staff members of the Marcus Lewis Day Camp were on hand on two recent occasions to help swimmers in trouble, including a near drowning.

Marcus Lewis addressed the Commission for a discussion on how the pond is used, improved signage, increased awareness, and the unauthorized use of alcohol.
