The Live for Liv Foundation was created after an act of domestic violence took the life of 17-year-old Olivia “Liv” Marchand of Westford on Feb. 1, 2010. Her mother Jody Marchand was critically wounded. Police say Olivia’s father, Brian Marchand, shot his daughter and wife and then turned the gun on himself, succumbing to his injuries. Olivia was a senior at Westford Academy and was on her way to the University of Vermont in the fall.
After healing from her critical wounds, Marchand founded the organization to keep her daughter’s memory alive.

Personal Commentary by Westford Pilates and Yoga Owner, Chris Kandianis
As the owner of Westford Pilates and Yoga, I have been supporting the Live for Liv Foundation for several years. When the domestic violence incident that caused Olivia’s death occurred, my daughter was a senior at Westford Academy. The loss hit our family very deeply even though we didn’t know Olivia personally. It brought home the realization that there are many other hidden, abusive relationships out there and people need community support. It is truly amazing to see the courage and fortitude Jody Marchand has shown to further the cause with her fundraising and motivational talks.
