Hundreds climbed up a hill at East Boston Camps, just past Burges Pond, to participate in the fall barbecue festival on Sept. 30.

A perfect fall day with warm temperatures and sunny skies drew families with kids of all ages to participate in face painting, potato sack racing, and marshmallow roasting.

Proceeds from a silent auction will go toward the upkeep of the town-owned 287 wooded acres. The parcel is host to an annual summer camp. In addition, its miles of trails draw hikers in warm weather and cross-country skiers in cold weather. The pond is used for swimming and boating.
