Second Opinion host Wade Fox interviews Republican candidate for the First Middlesex District state Senate seat, John MacDonald. The candidate’s campaign is based on four “pillars,” said Fox:
- Controlling spending on taxes.
- Reforming the state government.
- Improving public safety.
- Ensuring better care for veterans and citizens in need.
MacDonald touches upon the region’s infrastructure problems pointing to the Rourke Bridge in Lowell as an example.
“What was supposed to be a temporary structure is now a crumbling mess,” he said. “What’s it going to take? Is it going to take another tragedy in order for us to fix something?”
MacDonald said infrastructure is “something we need to invest in.”
