Co-captain Marcos Acosta tells how Westford Academy’s chess club got started.

“We realized there wasn’t a chess club at Westford Academy and we were kind of surprised by that because it turned out that a lot of students like to play chess but never thought that there’d be other students who would like to play,” he said.

Acosta noted that there is a correlation between students who like to play chess and academic performance.

Ishal Bansal is Acosta’s co-captain.
