Merrimack Repertory Theatre will present a special panel discussion with members of the D’Youville Life and Wellness Community titled “Coming to Terms with a Relative’s Dementia” after the 7:30 p.m. performance of The Heath on Thursday, Feb. 21.

Executive Director Naomi Prendergast will moderate a talk with Lisa Sobhian and Sharon Hatch. Panelist Sobhian (LICSW, CDP), Director of Dementia Services and Life Enrichment Programs at D’Youville, will discuss the effects on the family when a relative has a form of dementia, such as Alzheimer’s, from the point of view of a clinician, and Sharon Hatch will approach the topic from the angle of a family member.

Admission is free with a ticket for any performance of the show. For further information, contact the MRT Box Office at 978-654-4678.

In The Heath, a world premiere play by Lauren Gunderson (Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley, Silent Sky), a young woman struggles to better understand her late grandfather, who passed away after suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. Beautiful and funny, The Heath is a play with banjo, traditional songs, and original songs.
