Zira is a 6-year-old black lab that was featured in June. She was recently brought back to the Lowell Humane Society after her adopters were unable to devote enough time to her separation anxiety issues, according to shelter staff, who said she’d do well in a home with older, dog-savvy kids.
Zira loves to spend time with other dogs, but she has to be the only pet in her home, said Volunteer Coordinator Marie Baillargeon. “She loves to hang out with other dogs in the dog park; going on walks. Things like that, but she’s not going to enjoy a life with another animal in her home,” Baillargeon said.
Zira is described as affection and a wonderful companion. “She is an absolute love bug,” says Baillargeon. “She likes to be petted. If you sit on the ground, she’ll often put her head in your lap. She likes to get lots of love and attention.”
Zira is available now for adoption at the Lowell Humane Society
