Cookbook Club: Thursday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. The Cookbook Club is dedicated to exploring cookbooks and sampling new recipes. It meets on the third Thursday of the month. The November pick is Julia and Jacques: Cooking at Home by Julia Child and Jacques Pepin. Copies are available for check out at the Main Desk. Drop in. Check out the Reading List.

Teen/Tween Advisory Board: Saturday, Nov. 23 at 3 p.m. Food, fun and most importantly a voice at the Library. Help the Young Adult Librarian plan and prepare for Teen and Tween events. Appropriate for grades 6-12, drop in, no registration required. For more information residents can contact the Youth Service department at (978) 399-2302.

Monday Mystery Book Club: Monday, Nov. 25 at 10:30 a.m. It meets on the fourth Monday morning of the month at 10:30 a.m. in the Mary Atwood Room. The November selection is A Fatal Grace by Louise Penny. Copies of the current selection are available for check-out at the Main Desk. New members always welcome. FREE! Make & Take Mondays: Nov. 25 at 3:30 p.m.

Imagine, create, and participate. Each Monday from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Teens and Tweens can participate in a variety of hands-on activities that include making fun, seasonal crafts and exploring STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) activities. This is a FREE drop – in event for Teens and Tweens in Grades 5 to 12. Registration is NOT required.

Knitting Group: Monday, Nov. 25 at 6:30 p.m. The informal knitting group meets in the Mary Atwood Room on the second Monday of every month from 3 to 5 p.m. AND the fourth Monday of every month from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. This is a drop-in program that is open to all ages. Bring your latest project and share advice and socialize with other knitters. Residents can call Sarah Regan at 978-399-2309 with questions.

Lego® Club: Saturday, Dec. 7 from 2 to 3 p.m.  All creations will be displayed in the library until the next time. Free drop-in for ages 5 and up with parent or caregiver.

Start Planning for Thanksgiving Dinner.  The library has a wide selection of cookbooks to help plan a holiday meal. Residents can check the online catalog or download a cookbook through our Overdrive e-book collection.  Residents can contact the Information Services Desk at 978-399-2304 with questions.

Database Spotlight: HeritageQuest: This genealogy database includes the U.S. federal census, family genealogies, local histories, tax lists, vital records, city directories, land and probate records, genealogical and local history serials and more. Residents can check out the Databases page to learn more.

A Staycation is a tank away: Visit the Historic New England properties where history comes alive, through collections, landscapes and culture of New England homes, farms and museums. The Friends funded pass admits up to two people based on availability. Residents can check out the museum passes page on the website or call the Library for reservations.

November Book Displays: Throughout the library patrons will see themed displays to inspire new reading selections.  This month we are highlighting hockey, award winning books, “Urban Fantasy,” and Thanksgiving cookbooks. The displays change monthly so be sure to take a look.
