This is an opportunity to share your input as the Board of Library Trustees and Library staff embark on the new three-year Library Strategic Plan, mandated by the state, and due in late 2020. Ukulele Strum Along: Saturday, Feb. 29 at 2 p.m. Back by popular demand! For the beginner ukulele player who wants to practice and play music with others. Make & Take Mondays: March 2 and March 9. Imagine, create, and participate! Each Monday from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm Teens and Tweens can participate in a variety of hands-on activities that include making fun, seasonal crafts and exploring STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) activities. This is a FREE drop – in event for Teens and Tweens in Grades 5 to 12, registration is NOT required.
Adult Nonfiction Book Club: Tue., March 3 at 7 p.m. Is truth stranger than fiction? Is it more entertaining? Find out in the Adult Nonfiction Book Club. Dublin in Song and Story: Thursday, Mar. 5 at 7 p.m. Dublin-born humorist and folksinger Tom O’Carroll tells the tales and sings the songs of his native city. Booktalk with Mayleen and Kristina: Friday, March 6 at 1:30 p.m. For those looking for some new reading recommendations or who are growing tired of the same authors. Readers can join Mayleen and Kristina for an informal “Booktalk.” During this hour they will talk about books both old and new. No registration required.
Beginners Chess: Saturday, March 7 at 1 p.m. In preparation for the new chess club offering for kids in grades 3 to 5, Glenn Davison will teach the fundamentals of chess. In one hour students will learn the basics including: setting up the board, using the pawns, how to move to win and special moves, 10 tips for playing a better game, and how to win a game of chess in four moves. Space is limited to 50; register here. This program is for children in grades 3 to 5 and is generously funded by the Friends of the J.V. Fletcher Library.

An Evening with Susan B. Anthony: Thursday, March 12 at 7 p.m. Meet Susan B. Anthony. Brought to life by performer Sheryl Faye, Anthony was a women’s rights activist who played a prominent role in the women’s suffrage movement, which led to the 19th amendment and gave women the right to vote.
