Wifi Hotspots: Now, You Can Borrow the Internet! The J.V. Public Library now has mobile hotspots available for checkout!  The Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners (MBLC), using American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds administered by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), has created a public library hotspot lending program to provide the Internet to everyone free of charge. Patrons over the age of 18 may check out a hotspot for one week.  Hotspots may be reserved just like a book through the Library catalog or by calling the Information Services Desk at 978-399-2304.

Virtual Extraordinary Story of the Tuskegee Airmen: Tue., Feb. 8 at 2:00 p.m. Learn how a group of Black men, once considered of little value to the World War II war effort, proved they could take down enemy aircraft abroad and racial barriers at home. Led by Jeffrey Urbin, Education Specialist at the FDR Presidential Library and Museum. Hosted & sponsored by the Tewksbury Public Library and made available to Westford residents. Virtual Great British Baking Tour: Wed., Feb. 9 at 7:00 p.m. Learn about making a proper cup of tea, regional specialties, and their origins. Translated for Americans so you can try them in your own kitchen! Led by Claire Evans, a UK travel/relocation consultant and former UK resident. Hosted & sponsored by the Tewksbury Public Library and made available to Westford residents. Register through the Library Events Calendar.

Virtual Mother Goose: Thu., Feb. 10 at 10:30 a.m.: Mother Goose is an interactive story time for children ages 0 and up with their caregivers. We do just about everything virtually that we do when you join us outside – just more up close and personal. We have pop up books, songs, a field trip, and Poppy of course! Our large screen studio set up let us interact with you and your children so please join us and help us make those LONG winter weeks a little better.  Please register for this program through the Library Events Calendar. We will move the program outside as soon as weather permits – we will keep you posted!

Virtual Story Times: Please register each week through the Library Events Calendar

Mother Goose, Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. is a weekly, drop-in story time for babies and preschoolers with their parents. 

Mini Mother Goose, Mondays at 1:15 p.m. is a weekly registration story time babies and their caregivers.

Book Bunch, Tuesdays at 10:30 p.m.is an early literacy registration story time for preschoolers aged 2 to 4 years old. 

Book Worms, Tuesdays at 1:15 is an early literacy registration story time for older preschoolers ages 4 and 5. 

Tales and Tunes, Wednesdays at 10:30 AM is a weekly, musical story time for children ages 1 1/2 to 3. 

Virtual Indian Cuisine Made Easy: Thu., Feb. 10 at 7:00 p.m. Want to learn how to cook popular Indian dishes? Let Sandhya Jain from Sandhya’s Kitchen teach you! She’ll teach you how to make both saag paneer and a rice pilaf infused with aromatic spices. Register through the Library Events Calendar. Questions? Email Sarah Regan at sregan@westfordma.gov.

Virtual Adult Book Club: Thu., Feb. 10 at 7:30 p.m. We will discuss Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng. Copies are available at Main Desk. Please request the book by title when you come to pick it up and tell the staff it is for the Library Adult Book Club. The ebook and digital audiobook are also available on Overdrive. Virtual Make and Take Crafternoon for Teens and Tweens:  Mon., Feb. 14 at 3:30 p.m. Join Jess to make your own stickers!  Please register through the Library Events Calendar to reserve a supply kit and to receive the Zoom invitation.

Blanchard Middle School Book Club: Feb. 15 and every third Tue. 2:00 -3:00 p.m.: JV Fletcher YA Librarian, Jess, joins the Blanchard Middle School librarian and students after school in the Learning Commons. We’ll discuss a different book each meeting along with related crafts and activities.
