WESTFORD — Here’s the March 30 edition of the Wednesday Whiteboard, where we highlight important dates and events during the week in Westford. This is a new series we hope to continue to keep our readers informed on their community.
News and events across town
Kimball Farm will be reopening its ice cream stand on Thursday, March 31. Golfers and players of Pitch and Putt can already play at the farm, with the farm’s other activities opening some time in April, according to a statement from the farm on social media.
Seniors have many opportunities to get involved through spring programming at the Cameron Senior Center, including weekly Bingo each Monday at 1 p.m. and emotional wellness programs offered throughout March and April. A full list of offerings can be found here.
Cosmetology students at Nashoba Valley Technical High School have reopened Cosmo Cuts, a hair and nail salon run by juniors and seniors within the school. Residents looking for a manicure or haircut should call 978-692-4711, ext. 16142. to schedule an appointment.
Fuchi Asian Cuisine held its grand opening last week 355 Littleton Road, adding to Westford’s expansive restaurant offerings. The restaurant provides a number of menu offerings, including sushi and pad thai.
J.V. Fletcher Library at 50 Main St. is hosting a number of virtual offerings, including a virtual adult nonfiction book club on Tuesday, April 5 at 7 p.m. Those with questions should email Charles Schweppe for details. The library is also offering its Discover India series hosted by the India Association of Greater Boston. The series will be held in four sessions, with the first held on Monday, April 4 at 7 p.m. Attendees of all four sessions are required to register online.
Important municipal dates
Westford’s Town Meeting is fast approaching, with non-petition articles due to the Town Manager’s office by Wednesday, March 30. Citizens’ Petitions must be submitted to the Town Clerk’s office by Tuesday, April 5.
Those running for a municipal seat have until Thursday, March 31 at 5 p.m. to withdraw their names from the ballot.
Government meetings
Westford’s Finance Committee will host a joint session with the Select Board on Thursday, March 31 at 7 p.m. on Zoom.
Westford’s Access to Town Meeting Committee will meet virtually on Zoom on Wednesday, March 30 at 7 p.m.
Westford’s Affordable Housing Trust will meet virtually on Zoom on Wednesday, April 6 at 7 p.m.
Westford’s Board of Assessors will meet on Friday, April 1 at 9 a.m. The meeting will be in-person in Room B on the second floor of Town Hall.
Westford’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee will meet virtually on Zoom on Wednesday, March 30 at 7 p.m. The School and Education Subcommittee will meet on Thursday, March 31 at 7 p.m. on Zoom.
Westford’s Pedestrian Safety Committee will meet virtually on Zoom on Wednesday, March 30 at 6:30 p.m.
