WESTFORD — April showers are coming to Good Pickin’ Farm, but it might not be water.

The Westford Rotary Club is hosting its Not-New Year’s Ball Drop and Beer Festival Fundraiser. It plans to donate the proceeds to benefit nonprofit organizations in and around Westford.

The fundraiser will have entertainment with vendors and live music, hay ride tours and live animals.

The fundraisers main attraction is its golf ball drop, where the club will drop up to 1,500 golf balls onto a green. Cash prizes will be provided for balls closest to the hole. First, second and third place prizes range from $100 to $1000. A ball that lands in the hole or closest to the hole will receive the first place prize, with the two next closest balls receiving the second and third place prizes.

Nonprofits are encouraged to sell golf balls to support their organization.

“Each organization that is selling numbered Golf balls as part of this fundraising event will receive 60% of $ amount for the Golf balls sold by their organization and Westford Rotary will receive 40%,” wrote Westford Rotary in an email to participants.

Organizations selling golf balls will be provided a free table during the event.

The fundraiser will be held on April 24 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., with the golf ball drop planned for 2 p.m. Golf balls are $10 each or six balls for $50. Questions should be directed to Patti Mason.
