Westford firefighters, as well as firefighters from Groton, Littleton, Ayer and the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation were “making headway” in controlling the remaining areas of the fire, according to a post on social media.

“Please be advised that this is the cause of the odor of smoke in the area,” Westford Police Department wrote on social media. “Please use caution while travelling in the area of River St. and the surrounding areas.”
