I’m excited to support Derek Lo for Westford School Committee! Derek brings to the table something none of the other candidates can: first-hand insight into what it’s like to be a Westford student. This is a perspective that can only benefit the School Committee.
Derek knows that a quality school system is important to Westford; good schools are instrumental in attracting residents, after all. Student success is important, but Derek recognizes that success goes beyond good grades; it incorporates the whole child, including their mental health.
Derek also knows that Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) is crucial to developing our students into thoughtful, caring, worldly adults. Derek is knowledgeable in this work, serving on our town’s DEI Committee, even while away at school; his experience can only benefit our schools.
