WESTFORD — Families of veterans have the opportunity to honor their loved one’s service on the Town Common.
Westford Remembers Memorial Fund has opened purchases for signs to be placed along the town common.
Formerly Westford Remembers 9-11 Memorial Fund, the organization was originally charged with creating a memorial in remembrance of September 11, 2001.
“During the process, many members realized the need to preserve, revitalize and maintain Westford’s 60+ memorials,” the group wrote on its website. “These memorials not only honor our residents and important events in Westford, but are pieces of Westford history.”
The organization has expanded to preserve other memorials within the town and provide direct financial relief to families in need.
Signs will feature a 5 inch by 7 inch photo of the veteran, their name and their branch of service. Signs are available for purchase for $100 each. Those looking to sponsor a sign should complete an order form. Orders are due by May 13.
