WESTFORD — Dennis, a seven-month-old black domestic shorthair mix is this week’s Adoptable Pet of the Week.

Dennis is a “spirit kitten,” meaning he is shy around people.

“I believe for the first three months of his life he had little to no contact with humans,” Matthew M., a volunteer from the Lowell Humane Society told WestfordCAT. “It takes him a while to warm up, but he is a very sweet cat.”

He continued, “he has been gaining a lot more confidence since coming in. He actually comes to meet people at his cage.”

The volunteer noted that Dennis does have a heart murmur, but noted that Dennis will most likely outgrow the murmur as he gets older.

Adoption hours are between Tuesday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 951 Broadway St. in Lowell. The Lowell Humane Society can be reached by phone at 978-452-7781 or by email at info@lowellhumanesociety.org. Watch the full video below.
