PFAS Litigation, ARPA Requests, Free Ice Cream (!), and Other Select Board Updates

On June 14th, the Select Board opened their meeting by thanking several longtime committee members and Town staffers who recently announced their retirements. The Board also heard a presentation from a legal firm suing the makers of per and polyfluoroalkyl (PFAS) chemicals for environmental contamination. Water Superintendent Steve Cronin told the Board that PFAS contamination has already caused the Water Department to shut down a Town well, and the Board decided to join the lawsuit. Finally, the Board heard a new round of American Recovery Plan Act (ARPA) requests, during which they set aside money to buy you a burger and ice cream from Kimball’s at a Strategic Planning Retreat in September (yes, YOU — but only if you show up!).
