WESTFORD — A new boston.com poll ranked Kimball Farm as a top choice for ice cream sundaes in Massachusetts.

Nearly 100 people responded to the June 24 poll, and identified 27 different shops in the state where they go to get their frozen dessert. Kimball Farm ranked second among the top seven choices, with 14% of voters choosing the farm. Cabot’s Ice Cream and Restaurant won first place, receiving 30% of the total vote.

Director of Ice Cream Operations Jill Curran appreciated customers who voted for Kimball Farm.

“It’s exciting,” Curran told WestfordCAT. “We really appreciate our dedicated and loyal fans for voting for us.”

Curran notes that Kimball Farm’s sundae recipes have remained consistent for their 85 years in business.

“It’s all tradition,” she said. “They are the same that the family started, all of our sundaes have been the same for the 85 years we’ve been in business. It’s the consistency and quality of the product people love.”

She praised staff for the commitment and “heart” they put into each scoop of ice cream.

“Behind all of that is the passion our production staff has,” she said. “For example, we don’t buy crushed Oreo’s. We personally crush them ourselves because we love seeing the reactions from our customers.”
