WESTFORD — Here’s the Aug. 17 edition of the Wednesday Whiteboard, where WestfordCAT highlights important dates and events during the week in and around Westford.

News and upcoming events around town

Nabnasset Lake is scheduled to be treated for nuisance aquatic vegetation. Officials urge residents to avoid using the water for irrigation, drinking, cooking or recreation until Friday, Aug. 19.

Westford’s annual Strategic Planning Retreat returns to Kimball Farm on Thursday, Sept. 8 at 5 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to register by Wednesday, Sept 7.

Westford Academy is in need of evening custodial help from 2:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. The job consists of cleaning classrooms, bathrooms, common areas and snow removal. Prospective applicants can email Westford Academy Principal James Antonelli at jantonelli@westfordk12.us or apply here.

The Westford Cultural Council is hosting a survey to better target their programming for residents. The survey can be found here. Responses must be submitted by Aug. 31.

Increased water restrictions have taken effect in Westford until further notice.

The Westford Farmers Market is held every Tuesday from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Roudenbush Community Center.

Westford residents who own an EZPass can save 30 cents per gallon at participating Alltown locations until Labor Day with the PayByCar program. Learn more about how to register for the program here.

Important municipal dates

The deadline to register to vote on the Sept. 6 primaries is Saturday, Aug. 27. Voters must register at least 10 days before the election.

Special Town Meeting will be held on Monday, Oct. 17, 2022 at Westford Academy. Petition articles are due to the Town Clerk’s office by Aug. 18 at 4 p.m.

Government meetings

The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee will meet virtually on Wednesday, Aug. 17 at 7 p.m. Here, the committee will present the results of their Indigenous People’s Day survey and debrief from a listening session held on Aug. 2. Watch the forum below.

The Economic Development Committee will meet virtually on Thursday, Aug. 18 at 8:15 a.m.

The Health Insurance Trust Fund will meet virtually on Thursday, Aug. 18 at 9:30 a.m.

The Historical Commission will meet on Wednesday, Aug. 17 at 7 p.m.

The Monuments and Memorial Committee will meet virtually on Thursday, Aug. 18 at 7 p.m.

The Northern Middlesex Council of Governments will meet virtually on Wednesday, Aug. 17 at 7 p.m.

The Select Board is scheduled to meet virtually on Tuesday, Aug. 23 at 7 p.m. No agenda has been posted.

The Zoning Board of Appeals will meet on Wednesday, Aug 17 at 7 p.m.
