WESTFORD — Here’s the Aug 3 edition of the Wednesday Whiteboard, where WestfordCAT highlights important dates and events during the week in and around Westford.

News and upcoming events around town

Westford Remembers is collecting donations on behalf of families impacted by the house fire at 62-68 North Main St. Cash donations and gift cards can be send to P.O. Box 869 Westford, MA 01886. Donated items can be left with Nancy Cook at 25 North Main St. in Westford. A GoFundMe fundraiser was also created to assist an additional family displaced by the fire. Two other fundraisers are currently still raising money for the families as well. A fundraiser created by Dan Kelley, a second-floor resident of 62-68 North Main Street has raised $4,081 as of reporting. An additional fundraiser, created by Hannah Tello of Tyngsborough, has raised $8,050 of its $11,000 goal as of reporting.

Officials are urging heat safety as temperatures climb to near-triple digits on Thursday. The Town of Westford has not announced additional cooling stations at the time of reporting. However, the J.V. Fletcher Library is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Increased water restrictions have taken effect in Westford until further notice.

The Westford Farmers Market is held every Tuesday from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Roudenbush Community Center.

Westford residents who own an EZPass can save 30 cents per gallon at participating Alltown locations until Labor Day with the PayByCar program. Learn more about how to register for the program here.

Important municipal dates

The Recycling Commission will host the second of three composting demonstrations on Saturday, July 30 at 9 a.m. at the Highway Department.

Special Town Meeting will be held on Monday, Oct. 17, 2022.

Government meetings

The Affordable Housing Trust Fund will meet virtually on Wednesday, Aug. 3 at 7 p.m.

The Board of Assessors will meet on Friday, Aug. 5 at 9 a.m.

The Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Work Group will meet virtually on Thursday, Aug 4 at 7 p.m.
