WESTFORD — The Westford Police Department hosted its inaugural youth academy, where middle school students spent a week of their summer learning about law enforcement and public safety.

Students participated in a variety of activities, such as physical fitness with officers, a tour of the Massachusetts State Police harbor, CPR certification, a tour of a Drug Enforcement Agency helicopter and a K-9 demonstration with officers.
