WESTFORD — The following press release was shared with WestfordCAT from Nashoba Valley Technical High School.
The Elegant Chef, Nashoba Valley Technical High School’s award-winning, in-school restaurant, will reopen to the public on Tuesday, September 27.
The restaurant will be open for lunch Tuesday through Friday, when school is in session, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Reservations are not required but are welcome; call 978-692-9958
The Elegant Chef is staffed by students in Nashoba Tech’s Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management programs under chef-instructors Paul Wilson, Carley Capraro and Jeremy Bussiere.
New this year is a catering program for those who can’t get enough of The Elegant Chef for lunch. Students and staff will cater holiday events, football parties and other special occasions. The catering menu includes chicken wings and tenders, meatballs and sausage, pasta, macaroni and cheese, lasagna, pulled pork, chicken piccata, marsala and parmesan, salads, and sandwiches.
Bakery Chef-Instructor Capraro is teaching students how to make bagels, doughnuts, muffins and danishes for breakfast, and they may be available for the public at some point.
Bussiere, the Hospitality Management instructor, is planning to take students to local hotels, including the Boxborough Regency, to help set up for large weddings and other events. He has also instituted a Manager of the Day program, in which a different student will act as kitchen manager each day.
“These are ways to help introduce the students to the many different aspects of managing a restaurant or hotel,” Chef-Instructor Bussiere said. “It will make for a more well-rounded education in Hospitality Management.”
