WESTFORD — The office of Representative James Arciero shared the following press release with WestfordCAT.

State Representative James Arciero recently recognized Vihaan Shah and Owen Schultz from Scout Troop 159 of Westford, for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest award in Scouting.

To achieve the rank of Eagle, a scout must earn at least 21 merit badges in a number of different areas ranging from government to recreational activities.
In addition, Eagle Scout candidates must plan and complete an extensive Eagle Scout project which usually consists of coordinating the materials, manpower, and cooperation of many individuals to achieve the objective of the project.

For his Eagle Scout Project, Shah led the construction of a presentational deck for the Westford Museum on Boston Road. For Schultz’s Eagle Scout Project, he helped build benches at stream crossings on the Tom Paul trail, the longest trail in Westford.
