WESTFORD — Westford’s coronavirus cases have remained steady week over week according to data published by the Department of Public Health on Thursday.
Between Oct. 9 and Oct. 22, 44 positive cases have been reported in Westford. In those two weeks, Westford reported 50 total positive tests, with 9.52% of 525 tests returning positive, an increase from 9.23% reported on Oct. 20.
97,147 total tests have been administered in Westford since the pandemic began.
A total of 5,085 total cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Westford as of Oct. 27. The state has reported over 1.9 million total cases of COVID-19, reporting 13,671 cases in the last two weeks. 6.44% of the total 214,025 tests administered, or 15,397 tests, have returned positive.
As of Oct. 25, 84 of the 96 intensive care unit beds remain occupied in Northeastern Massachusetts, while 936 of the 948 medical and surgical beds remain occupied in the region.
As of Oct. 27, Middlesex County has reported 2,959 positive cases in the last two week period between Oct. 9 and Oct. 22. 6.83%, or 3,360 of 49,196 total tests returned positive in the county.
In the last two weeks, Middlesex County has reported 28 confirmed and probable deaths, while the state has reported 171 confirmed and probable deaths.
Health Department to host booster clinic
The Westford Health Department will offer the updated Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 booster to children and adults aged 12 and older.
Appointments are required to receive a booster, with the department refusing to accept walk-ins. The department is requesting residents to bring their insurance card and COVID-19 vaccination card.
Residents will have to have completed a primary series before receiving their booster dose. Residents who received a different primary series from Moderna, Janssen or Novavax may receive the updated Pfizer-BioNTech booster.
