Snow expected in the region Tuesday night

REGION — Winter is coming. A coastal storm is bringing the region’s first snowfall of the year.

The National Weather Service is forecasting approximately one inch of snow for Westford Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Forecasted snow will transition to rain early Wednesday.

Overnight lows in Westford will be in the 30s, with Wednesday highs in the 50s.

Regions in higher elevations in Western Massachusetts and Connecticut will experience the greatest snowfall. Over a foot of snow is expected in parts of New Hampshire and Maine.

NWS expects the snowfall to impact Wednesday morning commutes.
