WESTFORD — The following press release was shared with WestfordCAT from Rep. James Arciero’s office for publication.

State Representative James Arciero recently attended a concert hosted by Friends Advancing Music Education (FAME) music group, a local non-profit volunteer organization which ensures opportunities for music teachers and students in the Westford Public Schools.

The performances included students from Westford Public Schools and Westford’s own Stackmusic, who played alongside special guests Steve Engdahl of Impactbostonband and Tim Seiger of Brass Traxx Band. Stackmusic is a trio who plays a mix of rock and contemporary pop music.

The bands performed at the H.E. Fletcher Social and Athletic Club at 11 Brookside Road.

Arciero was joined by Westford School Committee member Valery Young and FAME President Karen Sacco.

“It’s always great to see local bands and support our student musicians,” Rep. Arciero said. “Westford Public Schools continues to provide quality education for our students, as FAME works to make sure our orchestra and chorus programs are student-focused and provide students the opportunity to learn about humanities and music culture.”

FAME, established in 1983, provides advocacy, scholarships, fundraising assistance, and scholarships to Westford Public Schools’ band, orchestra and chorus programs and students.

The group provides travel funds for musical activities, scholarships for graduating seniors who have committed themselves to music education and funds for teachers and students, music supplies and equipment.
