WESTFORD — Nabnasset Lake will be closed on Thursday to control ‘nuisance’ aquatic vegetation.

The lake and Edwards Beach will be closed for swimming from June 8 until June 9, according to the Health Department.

Officials urge residents to avoid using the water for the water of livestock until June 10, drinking and cooking until June 12, and irrigation until June 14.

Though the playground is open, officials confirmed facilities for the beach will open for the summer on June 25.

SOLitude Lake Management is handling the chemical treatment of the lake. For further information, residents can contact SOLitude Lake Management at 508-885-0101.
