WESTFORD — The following release was shared with the Friends of the J.V. Fletcher Library for publication.

In recognition of National Friends of Libraries Week,  The Friends of the J.V. Fletcher Library Inc. offer community members a chance to win prizes. Library patrons are encouraged to stop by the special table on the ground floor near the Meeting Room, now through Thursday, October 16-19, and enter one or all of our raffles.

A $25 Kimball Farm gift card will be given to the person who most closely guesses how many candy corn are in the displayed vase. Additional raffle prizes include a $25  Muffins on Main gift card, five $10 gift certificates to this weekend’s Friends’ Book Sale,  five Library car magnets, and one Library ornament. Names will be drawn and winners will be notified on Thursday evening. Coloring pages and crayons are also available for the kids.

Friends members get first dibs during Members Preview Night at the upcoming Book  Sale on Friday, October 20. If you’re not yet a member, stop by the table this week to fill out a form, or join online now. Memberships support the Friends and are good for a  whole year. It’s $10 for students/seniors, $15 for and individual, or $30 for a family.

The Friends of the JV Fletcher Library have been “helping the library do more” for 51  years. They raise about $75,000 annually through book sales, memberships, and the fall appeal. This money funds the summer reading program, museum passes, book clubs,  concerts, lectures, the bestseller collection, downloadable and streamable content,  updated furnishings and décor, and more.
